Things
to check first:
1. Java
Players - Might not be pre-installed with your version of windows. Prior to the
release of XP all
windows systems had Java pre-installed. Strangely
it didn’t come as standard on the first few releases
of XP, but now does again on all newer ones, you might need to download it for the 3D player to work.
To download click logo above or go to: http://www.java.com/en/download/index.jsp
2. Activex Players - Has the plug-in been
installed on your system yet? If no, a window will appear prompting
you to download a small plug-in, which only takes a few seconds
and is totally safe. Created for 3D media.
(see also PLAYER SPINS TOO
SLOW point 2)
3. Might
be your firewall blocking it, you might have to set up a new rule within
the security programme.
4.
You might have Java but need to tick enable Java in the internet
option settings for it to work.
IMPORTANT!
If your computer was bought before 2003 the default Java player probably won’t
be as fast
or smooth as the Activex player.

PLAYER SPINS TOO SLOW & JERKY?
Possible reasons:
1.
Not on broadband.
2. Computer was bought
before 2003 (includes broadband users) use Activex/Quicktime players instead.
3. Too many programmes/3D
Players open at once, pushing the computer to its limits.
Solutions:
1.
Get broadband. If you
are not on broadband, It could potentially be the cause of many problems, such
as much slower opening times and slower movement when
spinning around the image. The default Java
player is your best option though if you are not on
broadband, it will open quicker than any other player.
2.
Your computer is not powerful enough for
Java (bought before 2003). Use the Activex/Quicktime player
option instead. Quite
often you are given different player options to view the 3D images on a given
website.
If you don’t already
have the player installed you will be prompted to download a small plug in,
which will
only take a few seconds
and is totally safe. The Activex plug-in was specifically
designed to greatly
improve the user’s experience when
viewing virtual applications. The plug-in will not effect the settings on
your default player (such as Windows
Media Player) it simply works in the background ensuring that the
virtual images function correctly.
Netscape users generally are not
compatible with Activex, you will need to download Microsoft Explorer.
To download go to:
http://www.microsoft.com/windows/ie/default.mspx
Want to stay with Java?
Buy a new computer. The default java player operates fine on all new systems.
3.
Shut down all other programmes.
For example if you have two 3D players from different web pages open at
the same time or if
you have a heavy weight programme also open at the same time as being on the
internet
it will halve the speed
of the spinning image!
